Mikaela was born in the month of November, just right before the holiday rush. For those of us living in Manila – you know how the holidays are – heavy traffic, congested roads, malls filled to the brim. Christmas time also meant Christmas parties, reunions and get-togethers, that’s why I was really worried about where we will hold Mika’s baptism celebration. It’s our conscious decision that our children be baptized on their first month – and this meant that Mika be baptized before Christmas. Good thing I came across Comida China de Manila, a Chinese restaurant (with function rooms) that’s perfect for family get-togethers.
I was so happy to know that there were still some weekend slots open for the month of December so I grabbed the opportunity and booked right away. Comida has a lot of function rooms that you can book – just let them know how many guests you’ll have so they can suggest which function room suits you best. We booked two adjoining rooms – which I think is good for 100-150 pax, they even offered one small separate function room as a spill-over room. The food was great, our guests enjoyed the sumptuous lunch. Drinks were free-flowing – we just had to pay a little additional so our guests can have unlimited refills.
Here are some photos (taken by our Photographer – BlueEvents) and some kwento of Mika’s Baptism and our celebration:

Christ the King Church, Greenmeadows
All our important milestones are held in this church. Michael and I got married here, Mia got baptized here as well. For Mika’s baptism of course we have to celebrate it here too!

Christ the King’s Baptistery
Mika was baptized in the morning, with all our families and close friends present.

Sweet little Mikaela – She didn’t cry the whole time!

We were so glad that there were a lot of parking spaces available that day – we didn’t want our guests to have a hard time parking their cars!
