First of all, please do not attempt to eat, taste, open or play with these laundry pods. Be extra careful in storing and handling these especially if you have young kids or curious pets in your household. These laundry pods are only to be used for LAUNDRY- nothing else.
So now that I’ve put that aside, I’ll continue with my review. Since we’ve moved in to our home 2 years ago, I’ve been doing our laundry most of the time. It was a surprise to me how I actually look forward to laundry days. I used to just send our dirty clothes to my parents’ house and pick it up when it’s already clean, dry and folded (yes, we were lucky like that!). We were still living in a condo in BGC then and honestly, doing the laundry (and having good smelling, super clean clothes) is almost close to impossible. Now that we have our own washing machine – an Electrolux front load washer- I actually look forward to doing the laundry. I could just stare on the clothes inside the washer while it spins and I swear, it can send me to a trance! Okay I’m digressing here.
Now, going back – my husband’s shirts and tops are majority white – he prefers it because he feels more presko with cotton whites. It’s very hard to maintain though – so I’m always in the lookout for products that will help keep our clothes looking fresh and smelling fresh. Recently, I’ve stumbled upon Tide Brights + Whites Rescue In-wash laundry boosterwhile I was doing the grocery at Rustan’s Marketplace and I got curious so I added it to my cart right away!

These pods are really very tempting to play with and pop – but please don’t!
One pack is a bit pricey – Php 395 for a pack of 9 pods – so I just bought one pack at that time just to try at home. Take note that the pods do not intend to replace your detergent or fabric conditioner – it’s just an add-on to make your laundry whiter and brighter. These laundry boosters can be used with any type of washing machine so I didn’t need to worry about washer compatibility. I immediately tried and used one pod on the next batch of white clothes, and I think it works! Our whites look brighter, some old stains were also less visible. Ever since I bought the laundry booster, I’d throw in one pod to my laundry batch (whites). I did not want to run out of these pods so I had to buy another pack on our next supermarket trip.
Here are some more photos of our white clothes after doing today’s laundry
The clothes on the photo are relatively old clothes some are pambahay, but they don’t look dull at all now. The clothes also smell good when I use the booster (no need to use a lot of fab con) and I think the pods prevent the musty smell (amoy kulob) when there is not enough sunshine to fully dry our laundry.
I hope I can find similar laundry booster for colored clothes!
Do you have laundry products that works wonders for you? Please do share!
P.S. A little reminder from the makers of these pods:
What should Tide PODs be used for? DOING LAUNDRY. Nothing else.
Eating a Tide POD is a BAD IDEA, and we asked our friend @robgronkowski to help explain. pic.twitter.com/0JnFdhnsWZ
